How does your personal and professional experience relate to your Chief Translation Reviewer role?
Since I was young, I was very interested in the English language, so I took English classes, worked on English-Spanish translation assignments, and practiced with American native speakers to get more involved in the language. Additionally, I've been working in American companies where I keep practicing, and it's been amazing because I am keeping my English skills active.

When I joined the Toastmasters Spanish Translation Review Team, I saw it as an exceptional opportunity in my life to be on the next level where I can learn more, but more importantly, I can apply all my experience to something that I consider unique. Almost 10 years later, I have this new opportunity as Chief Reviewer to continue using my experience in something that I like so much. I am also keeping in mind that I need to encourage myself to provide the very best of me and find new ways to keep learning.

What do you like most about being a translation reviewer?
Our work on the Spanish Translation Review Team is impacting all the Spanish speakers in Toastmasters. It's very relevant, and that's why I take it so seriously. At the same time, I enjoy being in contact with different members around the world and working all together to achieve the same global goals. In the end, I think that developing this attitude of service is the key to real Toastmasters Leadership.

"If you love Toastmasters, you've got to love bringing its materials to life in a beautiful language like Spanish. By having the programs and campaigns in our own language, we are able expand Toastmasters' message and return a little of what was given in the first place.

Besides, the Spanish Review Team is like a small family!"

"Being lead reviewer has given me the opportunity to work with an incredible team of translators that devote their time to create high quality material for members that speak our mother tongue. It's an experience to give back to Toastmasters International."
